I've tried Hiren's Boot CD, but I couldn't figure it out. Thus far, I know that Intel RST has the capacity to do this for me, but to enable it would require editing SATA controller registry spaces, which I can't find / am unable to access. Both the old drive and my desktop have Windows 7 installed. I have the old drive connected to my desktop via SATA. Intel RST recognizes it as a locked drive within the OS. The HDD itself can be seen in the BIOS, though its password cannot be changed b/c of different OEMs. I salvaged a HDD from an old laptop and it's password protected, so Windows doesn't recognize it in the Device Manager. ![]() THE FAQ WIKI THE FAQ WIKI LIVE CHAT LIVE CHAT POST A QUESTION When you no longer need help edit your post to one of these: (/resolved) If you are testing suggestions edit your post from above to one of these: (/testing) Please keep the conspiracy and stuff you are trying to sell out.įor live assistance, try our always-open chatroom.Īdd a line at the bottom of your post and one of these: (/unresolved) We are not going to let this fall under like the usenet group.
